Grilled Burgers with a fresh cucumber-tomato salad, sweet-iced tea & catching lightning bugs are some of my earliest memories of my summer nights. Fresh peaches & nectarines for snacks and jumping into lakes and streams to cool off never got old. That got replaced by steamy hot kitchens, family meals and Marlboros. Sneaking a couple ice cold #Budweiser's on a hot summer night still trying to catch lightning bugs and looking for the shooting stars capsulated the ideas of the future. Most days recent, it's get me home as quick as possible so I can sit in my A.C. and dig into a pint of Chunky Monkey. On the off days on the other hand, we're scouring the coast for my favorite, The Lobster Roll. I fell in love with lobster at a young age. I was taken to the Clam Broth house in #Hoboken, N.J. for my first experience and it was one of those food memories I've never forgotten.

Fast forward to my later years. Georgeann and I have found a spot outside #Portsmouth N.H. that we like to visit, #Kittery, Maine. While visiting Portsmouth we found a hotel that was pet friendly in Kittery so we can take the doggo. We didn't explore Kittery until the day we were leaving and found a nice lil spot called #Lilscafe. We grabbed some #crullers for the road and we drove home. While on 95 near #Providence we decided to snack on the crullers and I swear to you we almost crashed the car. They were soooo good. It was another #NomNomNom moment. I couldn't believe that we just grabbed 2 and not a dozen. We couldn't stop telling everybody we knew of the gold we've found. Then of course #Covid hits and we delayed life for a while. Even during it we attempted to make our own crullers and they came out ok but definitely not up to the level that we've discovered.
Finally, 2 years later we had some time to go somewhere and decided to get some of those delicious crullers but since we were in #Maine we had to get some #Lobster as well. The first morning while sipping on coffee and mowing down some delicious treats at #Lils we discovered #RedsEats in #Wiscasset Maine located an hour and some change north from where we were. Off we went! We get into town and the first thing we see next to the tiny shack of a restaurant is a line not just any line but a solid block and a half down a hill line. We park the car and we get in the back of the line and we wait and wait and wait close to 2 hours on a hot summers day. We met a lovely couple from, I believe, the #Greenbay area. They were traveling the east coast on an adventure and were so excited to find out Georgeann is a #Chopped Champion, We talked about food and places for a good hour. It definitely helped pass the time. Then the time came where we were next. I've waited in line at #Franklins BBQ in #Austin for a couple of hours and over an hour at the #PizzeriadaMichele in #Naples and its the same anxiety ridden exciting feeling that comes over me the second I order. Did I just waste my time? Is this all hype? God I hope its good. Well we get the #Lobsterrolls and head to an area where you can sit and eat. Of Course we need to take some pics first before we eat and as we are taking pics we notice just how much #Lobster there is. Seriously over flowing the buttery toasted roll. Which for the price my lil stingy guy was quieted and after the first bite he shut the fuck up. Oh My God! The Lobster in Maine is definitely the best around regardless how you cook it, but then to poach it butter to its perfect doneness to melt in ones mouth was a #mastery class in how to serve Lobster. The #NomNomNom was definitely strong with this one. The whole table was silent for a few minutes while we processed what we just ate. We waited for hours for something that was eaten in minutes only to be remembered for a lifetime. These are the moments remembered. These are the stories. This is the #NomNomNom.
